Twin and Double Prams
Are you having twins or is second baby on the way? You will need a double pram to get around. It can be hard to pick the the best double buggy for you and your growing family so we try and make it as easy as possible.
The first thing to decide on to help narrow down the process is if you would like a tandem buggy or a side by side double buggy.
Tandem double prams:
Our most popular tandem buggy would be the from the iCandy range, either the Peach 7 double or iCandy Orange double. They both can be bought as single pushchairs and made into double pushchairs for new-born and toddler or bought as double buggy's for twins. They have plenty of different configurations with car seats, carrycots and seat units. Parent facing and world facing. The iCandy Orange even has a built in buggy board - future proof!
Side-by-side double prams:
If you would prefer to have a side by side double pram, one of our favourites is the Bugaboo Donkey 5. The Bugaboo Donkey 5’s twin mode is all about shared experiences between your siblings. They can ride at the same height, side by side, letting them follow each other into any adventure. Studies show that this form of interaction is extremely important for your children’s development, which is why the Bugaboo Donkey 5 is designed for maximum connection. Your siblings can snooze and people-watch side by side, and the bond they form is forever.
Other things to consider:
-
Size and weight: Twin prams can be bulky, so it's important to consider the size and weight of the pram. Look for a pram that is lightweight and compact enough to fit through doorways and store in your car or home.
-
Comfort: Both seats should be comfortable and adjustable, with enough space for each child. Consider the recline position, padding, and canopy coverage.
-
Storage: Look for a pram with enough storage space for both children's essentials as well as your own. Consider a pram with a basket or pockets for storing nappies, wipes, snacks, and drinks.
-
Maneuverability: A twin pram should be easy to maneuver in tight spaces, such as crowded sidewalks or stores. Look for a pram with swivel wheels, good suspension, and an adjustable handlebar to accommodate different heights.
-
Safety: Safety is always a top priority when it comes to choosing a pram. Look for a pram with a five-point harness for each child, a sturdy frame, and a brake system that can be easily engaged.
