Preparing for the arrival of your new addition to your family is an exciting time.

One essential task to tackle before the big day arrives is packing your hospital bag. Ensuring you have all the necessary items packed and ready to go can help alleviate any stress and make your hospital stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

From Essentials for you and your baby to comforting items that can bring a sense of familiarity during this significant time. Let’s take a look at some of the must have items to include in your hospital bag, ensuring you’re fully prepared at least 6 weeks ahead of baby’s due date.

MAM

- Dressing Gown/Pajamas – Ideally front opening for breastfeeding

- Loose fitting nightdress x2

- Nursing bra if planned to breastfeed

- Comfortable going home clothes

- Slippers

- Socks

- Hair bobbins and brush

- Wash bag with toiletries – shower gel, face cloth, lip balm, toothbrush and toothpaste,

deodorant and so on.

- Maternity pads

- Dark underwear (Full Briefs)

- Your own pillow (optional)

Finally, you’ll need to make sure you have a car seat that’s been fitted correctly for your car. Did you know most hospitals won’t let you take baby home without one. At Eurobaby all of our staff are fully trained car seat advisors, we also offer a free car seat fitting so that way you can ensure your carseat is fitted correctly.

We do advise after you have the carseat fitted get some practice in doing it yourself, purely to get the hang of it and that way when it comes to bringing home your precious little one, you can really enjoy the experience.
